About the Artist

I studied at the School of Visual Arts at Virginia Tech; once accepted through a competitive portfolio submission/review, I earned my B.F.A. in Studio Art (concentrations in oil painting & digital photography) with a Minor in Art History. One requirement for graduation included completing a body of work for our own gallery show, and in 2013 I exhibited thanks for the memories for the first time alongside my two fellow graduates.

I have a solid foundation in drawing (charcoal, colored/pencils, pastels), experience in multiple paint mediums (oil, watercolor, acrylic, gouache), and spent an extensive amount of time with wall paint and spackling when working as a Gallery Preparator.

Through all of life's changes, I always find my way back to my initial intrigues in the arts. I have two passions in painting currently: developing the skills used for and creating digital artwork, and exploring new styles of decorative art with various painting mediums. Photography piques my interest when traveling, but the majority of my time is spent editing and restoring photographs.

I'm living in Maryland (USA) with my husband and kitties. I have a knack for finding/rescuing stray animals, being the go-to when in a crisis at 2am, and can make any kid smile (it's the dimples).

Let me know how I can help you today!

Love,
Shelley
